"Golden" by Charmaine Galloway was truly a very amazing read that is truly a heart warming read. Once you start it you will not be able top stop reading this read until the very end. You will only be left saying Wow what a read! We find this young woman (Golden) is truly a 'survivor' and from childhood until now and you can see that God had been with her through it all. This story was truly one emotional rollercoaster ride. Now that she is an adult being able to look back and see where Golden has come from being able to keep secrets that had held in all of her life was truly something to ponder on. You will find from the read that Golden is definitely a 'survivor.' Will these secrets Golden has held to for so long keep her from the love of Marquis Jones? Will Golden be able to forgive her birth mother and the demons that she has held on to her all of these years? This author did a wonderful job at a presenting this young lady's life and struggles letting us see how through all that went on with Golden and how through the power of God's love that in the end ....well this is where I will say you must pick up the excellent read to see for yourself. It was truly a amazing well written read that will leave you with such a positive message from above. "Golden" was truly a wonderful read that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good read because in the end it was 'her pain, her secrets and her story' that was so well delivered to us by this author.

I must say that I truly enjoyed this novel. It definitely was a page turner from beginning to end. To have someone love you no matter what your past was like, is priceless. I can't wait till part 2 comes out. Congratulations Charmaine another 5 star novel.
I purchased this book because of the good reviews. I put the book down several times, but was determined to finish it. At 56%, I skimmed the pages and finally went right to the last chapter. The book had too much irrelevant information. Makes the book drawn out for no real reason, except to make the book longer.....the details were repetitive. Don't think I'll be reading another one of Charmaine Galloway's book......it was a real snooze fest.
Golden was one of a kind with all she was going through she was so strong, her past came back to her in so many ways and the end of the book was the most exciting part when I was reading I got a little teary eyed, I am a person that will not tell all that is in a book to leave a lot for a person to see just what Golden did to show strong.
This book was about overcoming life. This book was captivating from beginning to end. I really enjoyed this book would highly recommend it if you're looking for a good book to read. Golden was a women that overcame abuse physically, mentally, emotionally and sexual. I applaud Golden's character for being a very strong and intelligent woman. Good job!!!
Drug addiction doesn't just harm the individual it harms everyone that is involved with them. God is always in control and no matter the circumstance he always wins.
Golden was a very well written story that will remind all of that we are not perfect and are deserving of love. This is the first book I've read by the author and I'm very impressed. Not only was the story line great, but the characters were easy to relate to. I think we all have a little golden in us. This story shows that forgiveness can open many doors if you just let go and let god. Great job charmaine.
This book had me in tears. I am not too upset with Linda because she did repent and ask for forgiveness from God and Golden, but I hate what happened to Tia. Children who are still children don't know how to be parents. I'm glad Linda realized this but it was a little too late, the damage and hurt had already been caused. Thank God Golden found happiness in some others to love her. Can't wait to read the sequel, "Lost Daughters".
